EPL BETTING PREVIEW: WEEK 32

1 July 2020

Following a weekend that saw the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City progress into the FA Cup semi-finals, the Premier League returns to screens around the globe with a host of midweek fixtures and plenty of interesting EPL betting in Week 32.

Chelsea hammered the final nail in the coffin that was Manchester City’s title aspirations last Thursday, allowing Liverpool to deservedly claimed their 19th league title; securing their first-place position with an outstanding 86 points in only 31 games.

Although it will be Liverpool’s name engraved on the trophy, parts of the 2019/20 Premier League story still need to be written.

Join us this week as we dive into the EPL and witness champions clashing at the Etihad, alongside intense battles throughout the table for European places.

PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING

Manchester City

A 2-1 defeat away to Chelsea last week saw Manchester City part ways with their Premier League crown, putting Liverpool well and truly beyond their grasp. In a cruel twist of fate, the ex-champions will now be the first to welcome the new champs and form a guard of honour for Klopp’s men, as the two sides face one another this Thursday at the Etihad.

Although City’s attention may be on securing silverware in other competitions, Pep Guardiola will demand his team continue their five-year unbeaten run against Liverpool at home in the league, and set down a marker for next season against the newly crowned champions.

Liverpool

Having secured their first title in 30 years, Liverpool head to the Etihad Stadium this Thursday, eager to claim their first win as champions against Manchester City. Although this fixture is no longer a title decider, the intense rivalry between these sides should ensure that the match is anything but a formality.

With key first-team players Aguero and Fernandinho both unavailable for selection for Manchester City, Liverpool will look to exploit an under-strength side. Victory against the team who pipped them to the title last year would push the Reds another step closer to breaking records for wins and points in the league. Klopp’s men must look to emulate their performance from their previous encounter, where they took the full three points via a 3-1 victory at Anfield.

MANCHESTER CITY VS LIVERPOOL: PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING ODDS

As the two best sides in the country are set to lock horns, Manchester City come out on top at 35/33 (2.06) to win, with the champions, Liverpool looking at odds of 47/20 (3.35).

West Ham United

West Ham United continue their fight to secure a place in the Premier League next season, as they welcome Chelsea in a London derby this Thursday. David Moyes’s team toes the right-side of the relegation line by virtue of goal difference; Hammers fans know that their team is in dire need of points having lost both games since the restart.

Few West Ham United fans will expect a repeat of the reverse fixture which saw Aaron Cresswell secure the win for his team with the only goal of the day. With David Moyes’s side plagued by injuries, the Hammers go into the fixture knowing that they will need to beat Chelsea the hard way – without the likes of club record-singing Sebastian Haller and defender Arthur Masuaku.

Chelsea

Chelsea, on the other hand, find themselves fighting it out at the other end of the table in fourth spot, looking to secure a valuable place in the Champions League for next season.

With three wins out of three since the restart – beating the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester City and Leicester City, Frank Lampard’s team go into the London derby fully expecting all three points. Recent good news emanating from Stamford Bridge also suggests that Christian Pulisic may be up for selection this week against the Hammers after limping off in his last appearance.

WEST HAM UNITED VS CHELSEA: PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING ODDS

Unsurprisingly Chelsea come out as favourites at 3/5 (1.60) to win, with the chances of West Ham United causing an upset calculated at 9/2 (5.50).

Everton

Everton’s restart to the league has seen the Toffees face opponents from opposite ends of the table, drawing to the newly crowned champions and beating last-place Norwich City on the road.

Although still not where they want to be (currently in 12th place), a home win this Wednesday against Leicester City could propel Ancelotti’s side up the league, to just one point behind Tottenham in 7th. With their stand-out youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin available and enjoying the best season of his career with a total of 13 Premier League goals, Everton should head into their fixture against the Foxes oozing confidence.

Leicester City

Still searching for their first Premier League victory since the restart, the Foxes travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton. Going into the match, all eyes will be fixed on Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy to spark a repeat of the 2-1 win earlier this season in the reverse fixture. Leading the charts as the current Premier League top goalscorer with 19 goals, the Englishman is at 13/10 (2.30) to add to his tally this Wednesday night and presents an interesting option for EPL betting in Week 32.

With Chelsea cutting the gap to third place to just a point, and Manchester United hot on their heels, Brendan Rodgers will prepare his team for a tough contest, in which they must come out on top. Foxes fans know that a win has the potential to put some distance between themselves and their rivals, and possibly secure a Champions League qualification spot for next season.

EVERTON VS LEICESTER CITY: PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING ODDS

On account of their recent form and home advantage, Everton are favourited at 14/9 (2.55) to win, with Leicester City’s chances measured at 19/10 (2.90).
