..vows to be even better in 2018!
Harry Kane has beaten Alan shearer’s record number of goals in the Premier League. Kane elevated his already lofty profile in world football to almost God like status by ending the year with consecutive hat tricks against Burnley and Southampton. His 39 goals during 2017 ends Alan Shearer’s 22-year record of 36 goals achieved in 1995.
Taking Shearer’s Premier League record alone is a magnificent achievement, but with 56 goals in all competitions he eclipsed even the great Lionel Messi. Messi could manage only 54 goals during the year but still holds the record of 91 goals in top flight competition in 2012. However, let’s take nothing away from the Spurs number 9, to leave players of the quality of the Argentinian wizard and the Portugese superstar Ronaldo in your wake is an awesome achievement.
Kane has been plundering defences in the Premier League and Europe throughout 2017. He has amassed eight hat tricks in 2017. What is more, he has been doing all this at a rate of more than one goal per game! This bodes well for the 2018 World Cup where England fans will be hoping for more of the same. Fitness and form of course are fickle creatures, but should Harry Kane maintain both he could be the man to right past injustices that have befallen England in previous tournaments.

Here at EnergyBet we take a good deal of interest in the career of Harry Kane. As a youngster and just beginning his journey as a professional footballer with Tottenham he had two loan spells, one with Leyton Orient (now sadly in the Vanarama League) and one with Championship side Millwall. Both these sides are now officially partnered with EnergyBet. Unfortunately, the chances of either of these sides getting Harry to come back as part of another loan deal seems to have faded, but we can still dream here at EnergyWorld.
Everybody here at EnergyBet will be lifting a glass of Champagne in Harry Kane’s honour on New Year’s Eve and let us all hope that 2018 will prove to be every bit as successful as 2017 was for the Spurs superstar. Stay fit and stay super Harry!
