The League of Legends World Championship is in full swing! A week of back-to-back skirmishes left 16 best League of Legends teams standing on the Rift, ready to fight on for the 2020 Summoner’s Cup in the Main Event. Let’s see who made the cut and preview some of the upcoming World Championship Group Stage matches.
Round One of the 2020 World Championship seeded out the weak links rather quickly! INTZ and V3 Esports were knocked out of the running, both with a final Win-Loss ratio of 1-3. Team Liquid and PSG Talon came out on top of their Play-In groups with nearly-clean sweeps, both teams finished the first round at 3-1 and move on to the Group Stage.
Legacy Esports, SuperMassive, MAD Lions, Rainbow 7, Unicorns of Love and LGD Gaming all qualified for a second shot at the Group Stage qualifiers in Round Two. LGD Gaming and Unicorns of Love showed us exactly what we love about competitive esports: top-tier gameplay and awe-inspiring wins. Both teams earned their Group Stage spots with scores of 3-0 in the Finals of Play-In Round Two.
Here is the final list of competitors for the World Championship Group Stage, including the direct seeds, and their respective group placement.
Group A: G2 Esports, Machi Esports, Suning and Team Liquid.
Group B: DAMWON Gaming, JD Gaming, PSG Talon and Rogue.
Group C: Fnatic, Gen.G Esports, LGD Gaming and Team SoloMid.
Group D: DRX, FlyQuest, Top Esports and Unicorns of Love.

Representing North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, South Korea, China and CIS are 16 LoL teams — ready to storm the Rift in full force! Only eight Playoffs sports are up for grabs, a single click can make it or break it for League’s top talent.

Group Stage matchups begin on Saturday, 3 October, and run through to 11 October. Top Esports and FlyQuest are kicking off the Main Event at 10:00 CEST/BTS+1, followed by four more matches on Saturday.
Group Stage: 3-6 October and 8-11 October.
Playoffs: 15-18 October and 24-25 October.
Finals: 31 October.
