Manchester City Go Eight Points Clear

Conte shows Mourinho who’s boss!

Antonio Conte dispels rumours of his eminent departure from the Chelsea manager’s job with victory over Mourinho’s Manchester United.

“A victory over United, no matter how narrow is still as sweet.”

I don’t know if Antonio Conte reads much Shakespeare, but if he does then he will surely appreciate this paraphrasing of Juliet’s famous line to Romeo. Chelsea’s 1-0 win over United takes them to within a point of the Reds.

Crystal Palace Ain’t No Real Madrid

Turns out they are way tougher to beat! Tottenham were bought back to earth by a resilient Crystal Palace at Wembley.

Spurs did need some help from third choice goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga though. Gazzaniga turned in a fine performance to ensure that Tottenham go level on points with Manchester United. A string of good saves saw his personal stock rise immeasurably, and ensured that Spurs weren’t left with egg on their faces.

7 Goals in Two Games for Liverpool

I don’t know what Jurgen Klopp is putting on their cornflakes over at Anfield, but it is certainly working. Seven goals in two games sees Liverpool surge up the table to fifth.

Manchester City Have Their Pedal to the Metal

The Sky Blues do not seem to show any sign of taking their foot off the gas. They powered to yet another impressive win over Arsenal. They are now eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, and with games against Leicester, Huddersfield and Southampton to come in November they look dead set still be top come Christmas.
