The Great North London Derby

Are Spurs 1-0 up already?

Mike Dean is to take charge of the North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. This certainly won’t go down well with Arsenal fans who consider him to be a Spurs supporter.

Wenger once described the 49-year old referee as ‘naïve’. It will be Wenger who will be the naïve one though if he worries more about Mike Dean than Tottenham’s super striker, Harry Kane. This could be another very long day for the Arsenal manager. Tottenham fans though, will see Saturday’s game as another opportunity to outline their superiority over their north London rivals.

My Prediction:  Arsenal 0 – Tottenham 1

10 is the magic number for Tony Pulis

Defeat for Tony Pulis’s West Brom at home to Chelsea on Saturday would be their 10th straight league game without a win. It may also consign them to the ignominy of the relegation zone.

Antonio Conte’s side will only care about putting pressure on the top three and making further inroads into Manchester City’s nine-point advantage.

My Prediction: West Bromwich Albion 0 – Chelsea 3

Has Klopp finally found a defence?

Well a defender anyway. England’s man of the match against Brazil 20-year old Joe Gomez must surely have impressed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. Question is, has he impressed him enough to get a start against Southampton at the weekend.

Liverpool’s defensive frailties have been well documented in recent weeks and now it turns out they had a Brazil busting defensive superstar in their midst all the time. Oh, the irony!

My Prediction: Liverpool 2 – Southampton 0
