World Cup – Outright Preview and Best Bets

It is almost here. World Cup 2018 in Russia. 32 teams and the usual suspects at the head of the betting to lift the trophy in July.

Let’s take a look at all the likely challengers in more detail then give you a top tip, plus a few lively outsiders who could go well.

At the top of the betting sit the two teams who have won the Tournament the most in Brazil and Germany.

Brazil (4/1) will be fired up to win their 6th World Cup and with new coach in Dunga, he knows what it takes to win. Neymar is the star and is fighting to be fit for the tournament after injury with club side PSG. Coutinho, Jesus and Firmino are all likely to be the ones contributing at the business end with Wilian as well. Qualifying was a breeze and the boys from Brazil will take all the beating.

Germany (9/2)  come in as likely winners to deliver back-to-back success for Loew. A very strong squad of talented players, the Germans know how to deliver on the big stage. Sane, Draxler, Ozil, Khadeira, Reus are experienced players with young striker Timo Werner ready to score the goals to fire the Germans all the way to the final. You can’t see many weaknesses in the squad to expect them to go well.

Winners of World Cup 2010 Spain (6/1) are fancies by some to go well with a good squad capable of having plenty of possession and making it count in front of goal. Conditions will suit in Russia and with players in the form of Costa, Pigue, Ramos, Silva, it could be god enough to taste victory.

France (13/2) come in to the Tournament boasting some world class talent in Pogba and Griezmann. They along with the solid Lloris in goal and midfield of Kante can cause many teams problems.

 

Top Tip

Lastly Argentina are in the running at 9/1. They are our top tip to win this years Tournament. With Messi ready to give everything to land the trophy and Higuain, Dybala, Macherano and Aguero, there is huge amount of talent ready to show the World.

 

Outsiders.

Uruguay (33/1) are a very settled team and in Cavani and Suarez they have two world class strikers who can score and create plenty. With the strong Godin at centre back, he can keep the defensive side under raps and with a bit of luck in the knock out stages, they could cause shockwaves and land the biggest prize.
